05 cavalier CE light

I've been fighting my CAI system lately *keeps slipping off the throttle body * and I'm curious if this is what's causing my CE light codes... I don't remember the codes, but the first time the pipe slipped off the CE light was for the little sensor that plugs into the cold air pipe. Second time it said it was the first oxygen sensor. Light came on again on the way home, but I didn't go get it checked yet because I had to get home and put the pipe back on the throttle body...

Anyways the question: Would the intake pipe slipping off cause oxygen sensor codes? I think this is the aem cold air that comes with the piece of rubber that slips over the TB and then the intake pipe slides over that. I took the rubber piece out, slung it, and put the pipe back on and tightened it down extremely tight to try and keep it from slipping off again!

I sounds like the cel could be caused by the intake temp sensor try checking around their for any broken wires cause my 04 fire had that problem .... Also could be caused if their is too much air goin into the throttle body....

Ya should probably get the intake part fixed. It doesnt take much to dust a motor and you would need a rebuild at that point.

If you look at this auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AEM-21-448B-COLD-AIR-INTAKE-CHEVY-CAVALIER-PONTIAC-SUNFIRE-ECO-03-05-BLUE-/270681491228?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f05dfc71c&vxp=mtr you can see the plastic piping to the left. The CAI comes with a rubber ring that slides onto the throttle body and then the cai slips over that and then you tighten it down. Well the rubber piece I guess lost all grip and the cai pipe keeps coming off. So I took the rubber piece out and put the plastic piece on the throttle body and tightened it down really tight. I just did this part today so I hope it will fix the issue, but if not I will report back tomorrow with the CEL code that's coming up this time.
