Alright, so I race a 1996 cavalier with the 2.2.
The AC condenser seized on it and I really don't need it. I'm wondering if I can by pass it by putting a belt off of a non AC car or if it would require more than just putting he belt on.

Lol i didnt know the condenser could sieze
Yes, just get a belt for a non ac car

this. my compressor started making noise, and the a/c never worked anyway, so i used the non a/c belt, never looked back. needed a radiator, so while i was there, pulled my condenser, accumulator, and the lines. compressor is still there, but it's not hurting anything.

This is what I did. Pulled everything but the compressor, and basically kept it there as an idler.
To Jordan, let me correct myself, the bearing for the pulley on the AC condenser seized, the point is is it doesn't turn and roasted my belt off.
Thanks for the info.

Lol what i was getting at is its physically impossible for the CONDENSER to seize, it has no moving parts. Now the compressor on the other hand... i can see that happening.
The title of your post says compressor. Post says condenser, i was just havin some fun bro
Sorry to bring this up again but I run the car on Saturday and I'm just getting around to doing this tonight. So I just want to confirm for sure that you can do this. The only thing throwing me off is the guy that mentioned using the compressor as an idler pulley, as if I had to do that it would kind of defeat the purpose.

No... cars came without a/c. Using it as an idler is what you were doing before. Just use a shorter non a/c belt.
The only reason I asked is a couple vehicles I've had in the past have had an idler pulley in place of the ac rather than just not having anything at all.
