Hey all. I know I am not very well known on here but i tend to do alot of searching and reading to learn as much as i can.
Recently I got my head rebuilt and resurfaced by a known reputable machine shop. I then proceeded to install it with my brother(whom is ver knowledgeable about mechanics and how things work). All went well but since then I have gotten an engine code that tells me I have a cylinder 1 misfire. P0301, I have done numerous searches both on the ORG and on google. this website is the main one I have been using to try and figure this thing out.
http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/index_gm_2.2L/index_of_articles_1.php So far this is a list of what I have either tried or replaced:
spark plugs .40 gap (AC delco)
Spark plug wires (AC delco)
I have switched the ignition coils around to see if either one was faulty.
I have also used a spark tester to test the coils.
did a resistance test on the fuel inkectors- they all read in the 12-13 ohms range.
did a compression test which read 160psi in cylinders 1,2,and 4 and 165psi in cylinder 3
There is a strong fuel odour coming from the tailpipe. I have a haynes manual so the entire head install was done to GM specs.
I am running a 2002 base sunfire with a 2200 motor. I really really would like some thoughts on this ladies and gentlemen! Please.
I am looking for struts for my newly aquired Eibach pro-kit performance coils, If anybody has some?
possible fuel injector leaking from the injector pintle or o-ring. Check for leakdown with a pressure guage.
do you mean a leakdown test for the cylinders? I am assuming you mean fuel pressure gauge?

install a fuel pressure gauge. prime the system. watch for fuel pressure drop from the gauge.
I also seen guys pull the injectors and check for wetness from the fuel injector pintle.
