1996 fuel leak, 2.2 engine
Saturday, September 29, 2012 9:29 PM
Have a fuel leak coming from this connection (blue clip) and I'm unsure how to go about fixing it. Hoping it's fairly simple without having to remove the tank.
Can anybody lend some advice? Thanks.

Bad news is it looks like the hard line is leaking, good news is that it's not the main rule line, it's the return line.

My recommendations are to first change your fuel filter, that looks like the original and they aren't that expensive, second go to a you pull yard and pull a good looking line from a 95-99 j body there, or go braided stainless the whole way, but thats really expensive and i don't think anyone makes replacement hard lines for our cars

I was under the car this evening, after the photos were taken... And as far as I can tell, it's leaking right at the quick disconnect fitting. Is it possible to fix or replace these?
And obviously if I'm wrong and it's actually the hard line itself then I'll look for another solution.

You can patch it with a rubber fuel line temporarily. Should have no adverse effects for the time being. You can also splice in new line, you dont have to do it all if you know what your doing.

Have a nice day.
