I have a 2001 base model 4 door 4 cyl. cavalier. I need a new hood and I found a junkyard that has one from a 1997 cavalier. I know things like the front headlights changed after 1999 so I don't know if the shape of the hood changed too.
Yes it will fit fine. Do not remember if the hood latch needs to be swapped over or not.

The 99-2k diff is in the bumper and i think some bracket for the turn signal in the fender, hoods are same 95-02.95-99 lights are shorter and the difference is made up in the bumper.
