I just got a 2001 Cavalier, headlights worked fine when I first got it. Then a few weeks ago the right turn signal would not work, tried two different bulbs in until one finally worked, then the next day my right headlight was working but very dim and my left was fine. Then a few days ago the headlights started sketching out, when I was on the low beams the high beams would flash on randomly, then it started to get worse the high beams would flash on but when they flashed off they would turn the low beams off as well then they would come back on a few seconds later. Last night then completely stopped working and haven't since then. I haven't tried fixing them yet, I was going to see what you guys know before I take it to a mechanic. Please let me know what you think is the problem!?.

Not a third gen guy but sounds like your headlight switch on the column is bad.It may just have worn out contacts or maybe a daytime light relay problem idk really.I would lean more towards the switch unless there is some typical issue I am unaware of.I have had another make with same issue,headlight switch part worn out on column.My thoughts and hope this helps.
