I know by now most of our cars are not under warranty anymore. So my question is do you guys still look for the GM6094M/GM4718M when choosing what kind of oil you buy? Does it really matter? By the way I have a 04 with about 160K miles.

Will there be a problem if I switch to regular oil temporary because I've been using full synthetic for a while now. Just don't have enough money for the expensive stuff right now.

As long as you change your oil regularly. ANY brand oil is fine. I would try to stick to a brand of oil after you change. Synthetic just lasts longer and breaks down less. If you changing the oil regularly it will not mater if you use conventional or synthetic...or a blend of.

Personally I like running synthetic or a synthetic blend. The oil filter is more of a concern that the oil in my opinion.

This website is about the best around on anything related to oil.

This is a good read on the subject.
