I saw a youtube video about how to remove the door panel on a cavalier with manual windows. Was wondering if it's the same thing but maybe easier since you don't have to screw with the window crank.
My passenger side window is stuck down about 6" and has been for about 6 months now. About a month and a half ago, I had to tape up a bag over the window because I was getting rain and snow in the car. I need to take the door panel off and figure out how to shove the window back up. Any thoughts?
Any video or other tutorials out there on how to do this? Is it difficult? What about the film on the inside of the door?

Well it could be as simple as the window switch being bad for the passenger side... otherwise replacing motor/tracking is fairly inexpensive with salvage parts. As far as the panel just remove the bottom screws and in the door handle and pop the plastic retainers out and pull it up and off the door.
Have a nice day.

Thing is, the window will go down, just not up. It started acting up a couple years ago and I could roll it up a couple inches and then it would stop. Keep driving and in a few minutes, I could move it up another couple inches. I'd have to do that till it was completely up. Now, it just wont go up at all.
Driver side is starting to do the same thing now =( I just need to get the passenger side window up so I can take the plastic bag crap off. I'm sure the tape is going to be a pain in the ass to clean off of the window and door.

I would try a window switch first. My 99 did that where the pass window would go down but not up. Junkyard switch fixed it.. its worth a try for a 10 dollar switch

Most likey the motor is bad.
It's a thermal breaker that stops the motor when it reaches the top.
When that goes bad it does just as the OP describes.
But a switch swap is an easy try first too.
And just as "Jordan" said, remove the screws and gently pry the clips out and the panel ilfts right off.
It should be exactly the same as the manual crank, minus removing the crank handle.
If you've also got power locks remember not to pull the panel to far away until you disconnect the plug for the lock button though.
