What was once a rare occurrence and good for a chuckle or two has now become a common unfunny nightmare. For some God awful reason, my passenger side door will get stuck shut at random times. At first It only seemed to happen when I locked my doors after getting out of the car. I'd notice that the car wouldn't beep to let me know that the alarm was set. I'd stop and think "huh that's weird" and hit the lock button on my key fob a few more times. Nothing. I'd come outside the next day with a friend and hop in my car, only to find out that my friend can't open my passenger side door. I'd hit the unlock button on my door, the motors inside would work fine, but I'd look over and the door is still locked. Ok, So I'd reach over and unlock the door manually right? Nope. The door lock is completely stuck in the locked position. With all my might I'd try to pry that thing to the unlocked position. Now I'm embarrassed. I'd pop the trunk, get out of the car, spray some PB Blaster or Liquid Graphite into the lock and try using my key. After lots of cursing I'd usually just give up and force the person to climb in through the window... Then magically, i'd try the door again later, and the lock will become unstuck and the passenger can get out..
Problem is, it's getting worse to the point where there's a 50/50 shot of that door just not opening. Quite a few times, the door will open, my buddies will hop in my car, and when we've reached our destination, they'll go to get out, and NAWP, door is stuck. I'd look over, and the door is unlocked, and yet, the door will not open. Great, now people are trapped in my car.
So basically, whether the door is locked or unlocked, the door can get stuck shut. The usually indicator that something has gone awry is that the lock will look like it's half way between the locked and unlocked position. Eventually, when it decides to cooperate, the door lock will become unstuck with a satisfying 'clunk' sound, as if something mechanical inside the door is getting stuck. I've taken the panel off several times to see if something could be causing the issue but from the little that I could see everything looked fine. I'm not really sure how to remedy the situation, but something must be done. Any help or advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

thats gatta be the door latch itself. possibly the motor getting stuck "half in half out" causing the latch to just stick.
