CV Axle nut

I want to do some troubleshooting on my front end...I think it might be my hub bearing or my cv axle. Do I have to replace it after I remove it? It would suck to have to replace it since you can only get them when buying the hub bearing or cv axle.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

lol...what I mean by replace "it" is my cv axle nut. I know that its a self locking nut (egg shaped hole).

I'm assuming its a 3rd gen(95-05)?

If so there ya go!

I've had my axle nuts off several times, never replaced them. IIRC you have to torque them down to 180 ft/lbs though.

Yup - 180 - 185 ft lbs.

Do it with a torque wrench with the wheels on the ground.

I've reused mine many times - I don't think I've ever had a new one. haha.
