Most of time while I pumping gas about every 10 seconds or so it stops like I'm on full but I know I'm not so I keep on trying to pump gas so it takes longer than normal to fill up my tank. What could be causing this?

had the same problem drive around a small bit then tried again and worked. No idea why the car did that.
I wish mine was that easy. Been having this problem for awhile now.

slide underneath and kick the tank a few times its could be your evap vent valve sticking
Thanks I'll try that. I hope that works it gets very annoying every time I pump gas.

I had that happening for quite a while. I'm in Oregon and we aren't allowed to pump our own gas but I would hear the nozzle shut off and the guy would have to come over and pull the trigger again.
After a while, my car wouldn't start. Ended up being the fuel pump.... or the filter. One or the other. Don't remember. Cost about $280 to get that fixed. Doesn't shut off anymore.....

Either the vent solenoid is faulty, or the hose itself is clogged.
'buy an aftermarket one, it is $32 from GM. I had to replace mine back in 2010, and it has worked perfect ever since.

Well I have an 04 Cavalier and it is very easy.
If you are lying under the back of the vehicle and locate the fuel filter. Look to your right about a foot or so, that small black box with a rubber hose going in it, and a two prong connector is what you are replacing.
Now if you don't have an 03-05 I don't know where exactly it is, or how hard it is to get to.
Remember GM ONLY!

I got the part. I also got a fuel filter since I'll be under the car anyway. Now let's see how to take it off and hopefully it fixes the problem.

The fuel filter clip isn't like the older GM ones, look closely at what you are doing.

Just a little update. It was working fine for a little bit but now it's starting to act up again.
