I have a 2004 sunfire.the gas gauge is only half way lit when turning on the lights.now if I take my hand and hit the top of the dash the gas gauge will light up all the way.i checked the fuses there fine.i checked for a short no short anywhere.i even replaced the instrument cluster with a refurbished one and it did the same thing.dont know what else to do if anybody has any ideas it would be greatly appreaciated

Clearly the issue is with the cluster itself. If it was with the connection all the lights would be doing it, not just the fuel gauge

See I thought of that myself.i even replaced the whole instrument cluster with a brand new one and it still did the same thing to the new one.maby the car hates me or is possessed lol
