I am taking apart an 04 2.2 eco I picked up at a yard. When I turn the crank the cam timing trinanles only match when the point on a 45* angle towards the top plastic guid? How is this engine suppose to be when timed correctly? I cannot find any pictures or tutorials on it.
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
The timing marks get lined up for initial timing, then after that they only line up like every 250 rotations (I'm guessing at the number).
While you have it out I would just do the whole kit anyway with a new style tensioner. Many will say it's not necessary but I don't like to take chances.
