A friend of my girlfriend's has a 2004 Sunfire and seal on the driver's side seems to be shot after the boot tore open. I'm trying to decide if just replacing the boot and seal on that side would be cheaper/easier than replacing the whole rack. Parts for the one side are $44 where as I can get a whole reman rack for $100. Does anybody have any input?

I believe the factory racks are under warranty due to a recall that can cause accidents if they are over extended, they can fall apart. If its factory I would check the dealer if not the rack, the rack is a pain to replace since it bolts to the k frame.

Depends, is just the one seal busted? Are the tie rods still good?
