What cases this, and how to stop belt chatter?
Is it the belt quality? I have a belt on my 2000 Cavi, that has no more than 10,000 miles on the belt and has started chattering, mainly at startup, this is so annoying. I've tried the belt dressing,(spray). That works for like 5 minutes. I don't want to change a belt if I don't have to so how do I quiet it ?
Thanks in advance....

Tensioner worn out?

coolant dripping on it?
- Your not-so-local, untrained, uncertified, backyard mechanic. But my @!#$ runs

I have no idea. The car has 234,000 miles and I have to assume the tensioner is original

No, no coolant dripping on the belt

234k I would do a tensioner without batting and eye. Honeslty Id do a belt again too.
