ok so I have a 05 pontiac sunfire modded cold air exterior filter on valve cover empervised vacuum lines and I want the car to run leaner Ive noticed a substantial amount of black smoke when revive any way to lean it back out
1st install a WIDEBAND 02 sensor and gauge so you actually know what your AFRs are at. Then you can adjust fuel accordingly with HP Tuners. This is the 1st I have ever header of a stock eco running lean. I would check out the health of the engine/exhaust system 1st. Did you mess with the fuel system at all?
It's probably burning oil because the pcv setup is wrong.
