its nothign serious just annoying....go a 05 cav 2.2 5 speed. Whenever i start the car i get a lil thunk noise sounds liek its coming from the rear but i may be wrong...where shud i start?

Is the noise soley while cranking( as in maybe the starter is dragging).A weak starter can create some serious noise if the typically the solenoid is going out or has a dead spot.I have no idea where the starter is located on your car specifically however just a question to see if this could be a issue.Even if it does not take more than 1 turn of the key to crank,a starter can hang up on the flywheel and sound pretty hard until running.I could add more thoughts,but I am not 3rd gen savy to throw out the wrong ideas.Unless maybe the clutch or slave cylinder or throw out bearing are going bad.
