Hi guys,
My '98 Sunfire usually idles at 1100 - 1200 RPM. I was told that a manual 2.4L should idle around 900 RPM's. Any idea on how this can be adjusted or what the problem might be.
The RPM's stay high enough that it's acutally hard to stall my car. If I keep the clutch in and start to go, it pulls my car enough that it won't stall like most manual cars would.

desires than him who conquers his enemies.

My '97 has the RPM in the same range. I never thought about it till now.

well 1000-1200 is normal for a manual, especially in cold weather. i have a manual 2.2 cav and i ideal at 1000-1100 rpms
You cannot change it anyway... its computer controled... if you make an adjustment it will readjust it to fix it....
I have a 2.2 OHV and it idles a little below 1,000 rpms. Try cleaning the IAC and see what happens.
God bless America.
pull it out but leave it plugged on the harness..turn key on for 5secs and the thing is gonna move ....then off 10 secs...then put back it and start it???????????i really think its that but im not 100%
