Well when i drive down the road my speedometer starts to jump up and down and my transmission start to repeatly change gears when i am going at a steady pace. Is it possible that i could have a sensor out. How could i get it checked. My check engine light is not on, and its a 97z auto.
I have that same problem and it happens once in a blue moon when i have and urge to punch it. I have it happen at 25Mph and just before going into 3rd on my auto. I've noticed when i slow down, i have seen the pin just do a sudden drop out of now where. So i 2 will be listening.
Well CRJ i guess we are the only 2 having this problem.
I have am thinkin the sensor though at the wheels. But too cold to fix it right now and for how often it happens.. not at the top of my list.
pull the VSS and check it to see if it is covered in metal shavings.

I had the same problem, it was the vehicle speed sensor, easy fix though.
if it only happens when its cold out i know speedos that are not lubed up good and then the cold makes the metal housing contract then the needle jumps all over the place. that happened in my jeep and my gfs firebird. idk if it would happen in j's though.

it's not ghetto, it's "in progress"
If metal shaving is in it do i have to change it or can i just clean it out? And is the metal from anything or is that normal
