My mother just got charged $90 to change the transmition fluid on a 1999 cav with 104,000 miles......

Is this a good price ?

well I don't know the price on a fluid change but cavi's are made where you can't take it out or change it... if the case comes up where you do have to change it... the mechanic has to drill a hole, to do so.

I'm not to sure on it though.

I can't beat everybody.... but I'm sure as hell going to try.

A hole does not need to be drilled to change the fluid. The transmission pan has bolts, which can be removed, and thusly the fluid will come out.

I would say that 90$ is a fair price for the labor invovled, plus the new fluid and filter.

lalalala

the question is did she get a trans service or a flush thier is a differane. A serivce you get 6 or less new quarts of oil and filter and a flush all the oil gets changed but not the filter. Thier is about 12- to 14 qaurts total depending on what kind of car it is. I like the flush method better, there is a chemical that cleans the trans first then it is all flushed out. I have torn them apart after a BG flush and they look brand new in side.

oh and to answer your question 90 bucks should about right for both a flush maybe alittle more but I would say 90 is a good ball park figure.
