96 2.2 to 01 2200 swap... do i need anymore?
Sunday, May 01, 2005 12:56 PM
I have been inquiring a bit about this swap since i have the engine readily available and installing it in my 96 project cavi.... I so far have obtained the 01 complete engine and all accessories, the 01 ECU and engine wiring harness, the 01 BCM, 01 dash wiring harness and 01 body wiring harness and the 01 Cluster... I am basically rewiring the car because i will be gutting the interior for new carpet seats glassing dash etc ,my friend w/ the donor car is 3 hours away, hes removed everything i listed so far and I picked up the engine accessories and etc already and he is shipping the BCM , cluster, dash and rear harnesses tomorrow and I dont want to be missing anything when i attempt this swap next weekend... .. ... is there anything anybody can see that i will absolutely need.

I am not sure about headlight wiring harness I know the headlights are different w/ different bulbs .. but does the 96 harness plug into where the 01 headlight harness did or should i get the 01 headlight harness and just splice my ends onto the 01's wiring ? ...

also the fuel pumps seemed to have changed between the years according the the hollander exchange manual so did the wiring change for them as well?

those are the only thing i can see being a problem according to the hollander exchange manual all the switches, (headlights, wipers, ignition, etc) are interchangable

Thanks in advance ... I may end up just Splicing the injectors and map sensor and running off the 96 ECU if this ends up being too much of a problem... but then i cant have an 01 gauge cluster lol
