its a 2001 cav with 60,000 mi
should i change the spark plugs??
No. I know reading through my Dad's owners manual for his 2001 Cavalier it says up front that the plugs should be good for 100,000 miles. If it's running fine I wouldn't touch it. I did just recently change the spark plugs on my 1997 Cavalier since it has 97,000 miles on it now and I'm kind of sorry I did. I pulled them out and outside of looking used they looked like they were all in good shape and firing properly.
thanks for the help
i wont change it untill it at 100,000 miles
I would take them out and inspect them. Even so much as to get some new anti seize on the threads. Trust me, you don't want a plug freezing in the head. I had one break on me with my old Firbird Formula. I got a first hand lesson on TPI intake removal and Cyl head removal. NOT FUN.
change them. with some stock ac delco. that 100,000 is only if you drive in normal conditions
just like the oil change intervals of 7,000 but 99percent of the population needs to change the oil every 3,000 to 4,000 miles. so it is about time to change yours, and i bet you will notice a good gas mileage change
and do a search here on sea foam. clean it out with sea foam and then change the plugs and oil.
see ya!
ok so i will change the spark plugs at 75,000 ?
and how much longer do you think my Engine Cololant DEX-COOL will last??
you can take the plugs out and inspect them or just change them anyway. it wont hurt anything to change them early.
the dex-cool might be good for 100k or ten years but i'm not sure, someone else should know. it says on the coolant resevoir on mine but i don't feel like going out to check.
