Funny you should mention this, because a couple months ago the same thing happened to me. My check engine light came on in my 2000 Cavalier, so I bought one of those $30 plug-in OBDII code scanners off of eBay.

When I got to scanner and plugged it in, no reading at all. It didn't even light up or anything. I would have checked into the issue further, but the CEL went out soon after that.

I have heard that it might be a blown fuse, apparently the same fuse that protects the cigarette lighter is also used for the OBDII port. Thats about all I can think of, might want to check that out first.

Anyone else have any suggestions??

I have the same problem no one around here has been about to read any codes for me I've used at least 5 different scanners and none of them will pull power like they should

and Yes I've checked all of my fuses and they are all good I'm lost as to where to go from here.
