removing timing chain from water pump gear?
Wednesday, May 04, 2005 10:32 AM
So everything is free and clear on my water pump and all the chain tensioners are out of the way. I spent 2 hours trying to get the water pump gear loose from the timing chain with no luck. Other than pressing in the tensioner is there something I am missing? Some one said they pulled the pump out at an angle which I dont see how that is possible concidering the pump still rests on the studs that it bolts up and I see no way to take them off. This is really starting to get to me some one please help!

first of make sure the engine is all in time with the timing marks.........once the tensioner is removed remove the chain on that side and remove the pump.....you might have to remove the timing tensioner shoe........look at it closely theres a clip that you have to push to get that off.....
