I wouldn't think its a wheel bearing...

My wheel bearing was, like Cinny said a winding/whining sound. I compared it to the sound trucks make with mud tires......

It could also be felt in my steering wheel, and pedals.

It usually didn't start until about 20mph+

I think a bad bearing can be ruled out in your case.... but the cause of the problem, I'm not quite sure of.

I know it's JUST a Cavalier, and I'm sorry if I hurt your ego.

clean the seals around your doors, not sure if armor all is bad for them or not since they are rubber..

look at the foam insulation in the corners where your mirrors are.

make sure you plastic bumper is secured nor gaps that aren't supposed to be there.

see if you can make it happen when the car is still, I dunno try something.

have a friend watch you in a safe place like a parking lot and see if they can hear it from
outside the car and tell you where it is coming from, the sound may be reflecting from somewhere else and fooling you into thinking its the front wheel area.

if you don't know what it is, eliminate what it isn't.

keep us posted, I wanna find this, I know it'll happen to me when the car gets some age on it.
