well I rotate my tires every other oil change about 6000-6500 miles.
I was looking in the owners manual, and it said the that back ones get swapped sides, so the back right goes to the front left, and the back left to the front right, and then the front ones just get moved back but on the same side.
I find this odd because my other car was front to back, and msot cars that I know of.
Secondly could it be just GM wanting to make money, after all that isnt really possible for a home mechanic, I have to two floor jacks and fo jackstands but it still isnt a good idea for a driveway thing.
Has anyone just ignored the manual and done front to back on the same side, if so did you have any problems with tire wear.
thanks

I rotate my tires once a year, when I change from the winter tires to the summer ones. It makes more sense (to me) to go front to back and change sides. This way the tires wear evenly. Since I have directional tires, I can't really swap sides though.

yea i have directional tires so i just move the front to the back and the back to the front.
front wheel drive cars should be rotated from front to back visa versa.......if you swap from left to right you may create a pulling problem......or what is called tire pull
i thought the way to roate them is take the fronts put them on hte backs, and then take the back right and put it on the front left, then the back left and put it on the front right
i rotated my tires today with the stock old rusty jack and the spare....up the car goes up, old off, spare on,.car down, back up swap, go to the front swap spare with back and do the same with the other side,,,iftheres an easyer way let me know...but i just do front to back...i dont see y not
^^^^^Same thing I did before I got directional tires.
Why do we have to rotate the tires? Don't they rotate enough while we are driving?
My girlfriend showed her dad the bill from the garage and said "what the hell? they cahrged me to rotate my tires...don't they go around everytime I drive?" we laughed so hard...
