does anyone know what the shelf life for oil is? i just purchased a case of mobil 1 and was curious how long the remaing quarts will last
I'd say at least a billion years, give or take a few months.
Actually, I read somewhere a couple of weeks back that it's between 4 and 5 years. This was according to Shell (I believe).

wouldn't it be 2 extra quarts. i only can put a 4 quarts in every oil change. (1 gallon jug of mobil 1).

SO EVERYTHING!
Depends upon what oil you buy. If it is a case of mobil or somthing, your gona have six quarts. My amsoil comes in 12 quart cases. So I buy on case a year and never get stuck without new oil.
