for awhile now whenever i start my car up and i let it warm up for 5-10 min, when i drive a little then I brake and hold them my car starts sputtering and idles between 500-1000 rpms' and then when i take off the car will drive itself. the rpm's stay between 1500-2000 rpm's and unless i slam on the brakes it wont stop. I just changed my rotors and pads and i think that there already starting to wear out because of this problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. by the way it is a auto 2000 sunfire se sedan

A idle that goes up and and down and is rough can be caused by many things.

-vaccum leak
- intake manifold
- IAC valve ging bad

those are three things I would check first
