Help Car won't start

When I put the key into the ignition everything is fine but when I turn the key to ono the lights dim and when I try to start the car, I lose all power. I though this was the battery but I got a new one and the same thing happens. When I come back later, the routine starts over.

Hi Mike

I would think it is a bad connection somewhere or the starter, as you have replaced the battery with a NEW! one?.

The starter takes a lot of amps to turn the engine over and the symptoms appear to be a connection:-

Check both ends of the Battery Positive cable, at the battery and at the starter, make sure they are shiny bright also the part they connect to.

Repeat this procedure for the Negative battery cable, at the terminal and the Earth/Ground point on the car.

If the cleaning doesn't fix it it may be the starter and you will have to remove this and take it somewhere to have it tested.

Post again when you try these checks, someone will have the answer

Good Luck

Alont

Well turned out that the car went into theft mode full lock out. It took about four hours for it to get unlocked.
