Hey, I just put my new exhaust on, it is an OBX header, magnaflow high flow cat, and 2.25 piping all the way back to the muffler, I still have both O2 sensors in place but it is thorwing a code, I scanned it and it is a P0130 so I think its coming from the first O2 sensor but what does it mean? Thanks
you might have damaged the O2 sensor... get a new one and try it
did you have to extend the wires for the sensor? if so, then fix your wires, clear your ecu. if it comes back, replace the sensor

when u scan it, what is the code titel the scanner gives you, it is prolly b/c of your cat, if its the second O2 sensor, its nothing to worry aobut, id suggest gettin an O2 Sensor Simulator, They're like $50 from Highrev or Gravana

my brother had the same problem with his civic...........not sure of exact code though...........he put on a jdm header and a test pipe....next thing you know hes throwing a o2 code........he put his stock exhaust back on with the converter and cleared the codes.......light never came on ...the went back to the header and the light came on...........im thinking that the exhaust gases are moving so fast that the 02 sensor cannot read the gasses......if you didnt have any problems with the stock manifold i would start with a simulator
if its hte o2 sensor in the cat, then you may need a bigger cat.
i have magnaflow's cat p/n 91035. works great for the car unless you have a header. a header (especially coated) keeps more heat in the system, and therefore melts some of the catalyst inside the cat. if you have a header id recommend using part number 94035- its just a little longer, and while some of the catalyst will melt, there will be enough left to not throw a code.
though all of this depends on the code youre throwing. the one i throw is P0420- catalyst efficiency below threshhold.

I dont think its the CAT itself because my car isn't thorwing a code for the cat, its a code for the first 02 sensor but when i Installed the header I had problems with the wires being too short, they may have popped out of the plug, how exactly do I clear the ECU? is that by clearing the codes or by unplugging the battery for a coupllle minutes? thanks for all the help so far guys, keep it coming
you can clear it by borrowing an OBD2 scanner from the parts store and clearing it. OR, you could just unplug your battery for 30-60 minutes. Since you say that you were having problems with the wires, that would be the first thing you should check. Make sure all your wires are connected and that nothing has broken/separated/etc. Put in longer wires if necessary.

*sigh* thats why i wanted this to be a sticky in this forum but so far no luck
CEL Codes
the code your throwing is
Circuit Closed Loop (CL) Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1
check your first o2 sensor
hook it up to a voltmeter with a long extension cord and an alligator clip, start the car- when the engine is cold it will be rich - 600mv - 1v, if it's warm then it should be right around 500mv could even be a leak in the pipe causing it to pull in fresh air.

well guys, a little update, when i put my OBX header on the wires werent long enough to reach the sensor location so one of them pulled out during my test run, I extended the wires and put a better plug in there and so far, 6 miles and no problem (just had a chance to go to and from work but I am going to go for a ride tonight and see if anything comes up and to test out my new exhaust
i wonder why a P0134 didn't pop up???
