Again, The Dreaded Fuel Filter Thread

Did anyone ever come up with a good fix for the broken fuel filter clip? A while ago I tried to change mine and the quick release just shattered into a million pieces, so now it won't disconnect. I HAVE to change this filter and the only thing that I've been able to think up is to just cut it off the quick release part and use a clamp to hold the new filter on. Anyone have a better solution?

cut the fuel filter off at the neck were it goes into the quick disconnect....then if you have a fuel filter releasing tool the stick that in there and pull the rest of the filter out the some pliers.......

Is the fuel filter under pressure or is it on the return loop? Might make a difference with the clamp option. What is the fuel pressure running anyway?
