alright... i bought a 96 cavalier from a guy who was side swiped. He got a used door off another cavalier. The door on the drivers side doesnt close like it should. It sags a bit and rubs on the plastic. What should i do about this?

My friend from a body shop told me that the problem with these cars is that they all use the same hinges. So what you have is the coupe with bigger heavier doors using the 4 door hinges. They wear out after a while or even faster if you hang on the door or something.

The correct thing to do is to replace the hinges but that becomes expensive. For a while what you can do is put some shims under the hinges to bring it up. The same friend did it for me and also adjusted the lock, and it worked like a charm. This is a whort them solution but it worked for me for 4 years so far.
