From what I understand that's one of the wacky laws they have there, how did he put diesel in though, the nozzle shouldn't fit in your tube, diesel nozzles are like 3x as big as gas ones

That's what I was wondering one time.. I always go for the green handle, and this one gas station had the diesel right next to the gas, and the diesel handle was green. When the nozzle wouldn't fit into the filler on my tank, I was like ? Good thing, though, or I would have put diesel in my Cav.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to put diesel into a unleaded gas tank. Why? Because the diesel nozzle have big rings sticking out so poeple cant do it even if they wanted to.

I guess its possible the station got their underground tanks screwed up, diesel got pumped into an 87 tank but I doubt that.

I always thought the gas stations had a smaller-nozzle diesel filler for the diesel Volkswagens, and the like.

nope the cars just have big filler necks, My dad is a diesel mechanic so we had VWs, Mercs, Chevy's, Dodge even Isuzu lol just about every kind of diesels except ford lol He even has a diesel Jeep Cherokee now. The filler neck on all of them is bigger to accomadate the big pump nozzle.

maybe he just doesnt know.
NJ doesnt let you pump your own gas so that "qualified" gas pumpers do it, thus making it "safer". Also, i would love to the gas staion attendant in NJ try to figure out where to put the gas on someone's car in a car with the saved gas door mod. It would probably freak them out to see you pop your trunk or flip out your tailight for the nozzle...

Hell yeah it's nice in the winter. I love full service. Never had any problem with putting gas in my car...

Usually diesel in a different area of the gas station, weird...

New Jersey and Oregon are the only U.S. states that currently ban self-service gas stations.

The purpose of these laws was to protect consumers and gas station owners from costly, and possibly deadly, accidents.

Better education and improved technology, however, have made pumping gas much safer and easier for consumers over the last 50 years. Since the 1970s, self-service gas stations have grown in popularity and have offered consumers significant savings at the pumps.

The New Jersey law was enacted in 1949 and the Oregon law in 1951. Each statute has stood up to several challenges in those two states.
