E-brake worn?

I'm just curious if my e-brake needs replacing because the only way to get it to hold the in place is to pull it up as far as it will possible go, halfway or even a few clicks short of that and the car will slide if i dont leave it in gear.

this was posted be4.....get going in reverse at about 15-20 mph then stop..this resets them some how

Providing your shoes and drums are in good shape and you have time...adjust your e-brake manually by turning the little "gear-wheel" inside your drum assembly until the shoes start to touch the drums. You'll have to repeatedly adjust / install drum / turn assembly until you get it just right. You don't want the shoes to rub too much or not at all....
