what is that annoying ticking sound that goes on in 2.2's!!! I hate that sound! makes my cav sound like a pile of crap...ticking crap! it keeps getting louder, then goes away for a bit. is it the valves or lifters or something?

by the way i am using mobil one 5w30 if it matters, should i go to a higher weight oil?

might want to check your lifters. I had the same problem and i had to replace mine.

my dad says all chevy cars do that for the most part when the first start....u might even be able to get an oil additive that will fix it..and posibly check ur oil level

Check your Exhaust for any leaks

check your lifters and if tha isnt it then i would want to go to a higher wight of oil cuz your piston rings might be bad

The lifters in our 2200's are crap, and will always be noisy. I'm planning on replacing mine with the one from jbodyperformance.com when I get my engine built.

Mine does this as well, like said above I heard those really no solution to this.. I only hear mine when the hood is open.
