well i picked one up, i have had the car for a couple months now, and im putting in all new filters and everything, cuz i dont know what the last person did, all he told me was that he was using synthetic oil, so im keeping that the same, and i checked the dipstick, u could tell it was synthetic, im not saying the person i bought it from is un-trusty or anything, i just didnt ask him when the last time he replaced the fuel filter or anything was, so...im just doing it all anyway. The fuel filter is in the back by the rear accel i hear, i was wondering waht im all going to need to change it, any special tools or anything?
What year model? Different ways to do different years.
God bless America.
Those instructions left out one major detail; releasing the pressure in the fuel line.
This is done by removing the fuel pump relay; which is in the under-hood fuse block, and starting your car till it dies out from no gas.
Also, instead of the relay, you can unplug the wires that lead to the fuel pump, but that is slightly harder.
That is for 2000+, I'm not sure if you have to do it on earlier years.
^^
Our gas tanks are not pressurised, hence the clicking gas cap.
The only gas that will come out is from the lines from filter to engine, and this is not due to pressure, it is due to gravity.
You will get gas places it is not intended to be, but for the most part, you can choose those places. Preferably a pan and not your face... I speak from experience.
