First off I have a 2002 Cav 5 speed Ecotec, now I've had the idle recall done on my car which seemd to have fixed my problem for a while but only to go back to idling around 500rpm whenever the clutch is depressed or in neutral until I come to a 'complete' stop and then it will attempt to level off at 1000rpm. After I've disconnected the battery for any period of time, it will clear my MIL light (P0440) and the car will drive perfectly fine for the first ignition sequence (meaning, after I reconnect the battery and start the car and drive it will be fine, perfect, driving like it's brand new) but then after I shut it down and go to drive again it goes back to idling weirdly.
Here is a video of the tach, this is during startup but does the same thing at about 5 or 6 stops then starts to level off eventually. SOme times it will stall out compeletly Here
wait a little longer than 30 mins to bump a thread. did you check the code? search this forum, you'll find a suggestion on what may be wrong. i had the same problem w/ mine but it went away. i remember someone posting something about it but i cant remember what it was.
Yeah, sorry about the bump, I meant to bump a different thread of mine
Sounds relatively normal to me, the manual transmission cars idle higher than the auto's. The transmission idles higher when stopped because there is no feedback from the transmisson (even though the clutch is disengaged things are still spinning).

Hey Shifted....
Maybe I should have added a bit more to my post, my bad...
Most times it will completely stall out and not even level off, and last night I noticed that if my A/C compressor wasn't on the car would stall. Like if I was sitting in my driveway with the A/C on the car would idle at 1000rpm and if I switched the A/C off the idle quickly dropped and stalled the car.
