ok, I have a 93 cavalierz24, auto trans. 3.1 V6, with 111,000 miles on it. for the last 6 months, I have been having problems with power. it feels like my engine isn't firing on all 6 cyllanders. there's a severe loss of power and the engine souds choppy. I've changed the fuel filter, and got new plugs and wires, but it just occured to me that the wires may be crossed, would this cause the power loss I've been experiancing? also, there's a bad vibration in the entire car and it's making my exhaust really shakey, is this from the same problem or do I just need new motor mounts? any help would be really appriciated, thanks.
First we cant tell on the internet if you need motor mounts, a visual inspection is the only way.
Yes wires crossed will cause of sorts of problems, I crossed wires once the car would hardly even start. Make sure the wires are all going to the cylinder correctly.
You say it has a bad viberation, could be a miss, exhaust loud, loss of power, shakey, are all symptons that you didnt do something right.

I crossed the wires on a Chrysler 318 CID one time. It did exactly what you are describing. I would definately advise that before you fire it up again you break out the trusty search button and find out your firing order and double check those bad boys. Not definately the problem, but my Spidey-Sense is telling me there's a good chance that's what you're looking at.
I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but at least I'm a pretty color
does the car back fire becuse my car did the same thing and it had to have a new head put on
