i have a 96 cavalier 2.2 motor around 88k miles. oil change every 3k or less. Recently changed to plat. plugs. Anyways when i crank the car - i hear this humming or roaring sound over my motor.. figuring if it was my a/c - i turned it off.. nope thats not it.. so i get out and put my ear over things and i found where its coming from.. its coming from my throttle body intake. i'd taken the air intake off - blowed it out , checked for leaks.. on that.. theres none......the only thing i can think of is the throttle body intake gasket might have a leak - can somebody tell me what this noise is.
i know when you give it a little acceleration it whines up with it and you give it some more revs - it eventually gets less noticeable.
if my oil happened to get halfway full - would this have anything to do with it?
i do know i hadn't drove the car much when it was at that level.. any clues would help me out
the noise sounds like a wirling wind sound with a hum

I dunno for sure, all I know is when I tried some plat plugs my car ran like ass.

just wondering would a 2003 alternator work on a 96 car.. i dont think it will but just wondering if anybody knew...
