My windows in my 00 Z24 make a loud noise when you go to roll them down. Also they seem like they are loose against the track or something like that. Does anyone know what would cause this or how I would get them to where they won't make that noise when I roll them up & down?
Thanks guys!
remove your door panel, and roll down the window, and listen to the motor, if you can hear it louder at the motor, then replace the motor, if not, listen to the track, if it comes from the track, then replace the track. also, on the back straight part of the window (i think) on the inside of the door moulding that goes around the window there is a small plastic piece that kinda clips to your glass to hold it in place, see if you see that and see if its worn out, if it is it would cause the glass to be loose in the channel. hope this helps, good luck!!

OK thanks! I will check that, I think that the glass might be loose in the channel, hope it isn't nothing too major, I will check it out!
I need help removing the panel also. 96 coupe, took out 6 screws from the inner panel, but doesn't seem to want to move. What am I missing?
Theres 2 screws in the part where you put ur hand to close the door.
I forget how many, but theres screws around the front/bottom/back.
The black triangle peice at the front of the door must be removed, 1 screw in that.
If you have manual windows (dunno about john) you have to take the window crank off. Use a cloth to pull the C-clip off.
Then just grab and pull... Might be easier if the window is down.
To reinstall...
It will be easier if window is down.
Start at the top, since you gotta kinda get it behind where the window goes in the door.

the window track thats closest to the rear of the car is very bad for a tab to break, and then it gets all loose, and the window rattles around. also the rubber piece thats held in place by that track likes to fall down in the door. id also just replace the whole window weather stripping, all tracks included, did that to mine, and all noises gone

Well, I'll give it a try, but probably with the window up. Need to take the panel off to replace the window motor. Thanks.
^^
The window can be rolled up once you get the panel off. Its easier to get it off and on with the window down.

Probably would be easier, but the window is stuck in the up position, so I really don't have an option there.
Don't be scared to pull, if it's the first time coming off they can be a bit hard. Just don't pull the hell out of it, last thing you want to do is replace the whole door panel.

Tru dat.
And yes, dont be afraid to pull. There are also clips that hold the panel on. If the door panel is resisting, look to see whats there... if its just a clip, pull; if its a screw, take it out.
Dont forget the 2 screws in the handle area, most ppl forget those.
