major fuel problem

i have a 95 cavy with a 2.2

ok I went to start my car this morning and it wouldn't start. tried cranking it a couple time gave up hopped in the truck and went to work.

After work i went about finding the problem. First thing was to check if the pump was running. turned on the key, the pump started, but wouldn't shut off. I tried to crank the car but it wouldn't crank, within the 3-4 seconds the pump was running on or more pistons had filled with so much gas that the engine wouldn't turn.

got out and checked the oil, it had a lot of gas in it. i then got my wife to turn on the key while i was in front of the car, as soon as she did there was a loud hissing sound like fluid leaking coming from the injector area.

key off, unplugged the injectors then key on, leaking noise and pump still wont stop.
I then unplugged the pump relay and pulled all 4 spark plugs, all were soaked with gas.

i removed as much gas as i could from on top of the pistons.

now i need to figure out if all the injectors are leaking or just 1 or 2

Does the pump keep running because it can't build pressure due to leaking injectors? or does it keep running cuz the relay or regulator are junk?

any input appreciated

Your injectors shouldn't be injecting fuel if you aren't cranking...

i know they shouldn't, but they are leaking, enough that the car will not start.

what i really need to know is if, when you turn the key on and the pump starts will it keep pumping until a set pressure is reached or will it still stop. when i turn the key to 'on'
the pump will not stop, it keeps pumping, and dumping more and more fuel on top of one or more pistons. when i pulled the spark plugs all 4 were soaked with gas. and the engine had not been cranked in 9 hours.

Then the injector issue is probably your problem, I would fix that before thinking its a fuel pump or relay issue. As far as I know, the pump runs until it gets a certain pressure in the rail, mine always does anyway.
