I believe oil is spewing a bit out of the top of the tube, where the dipstick goes and leaks onto the manifold, I was driving my 96 Sunfire GT and it was stinking up pretty bad and alittle smoke, smoke was coming from back manifold and really smelled like oil, and I also have aftermarket oil pressure gauge and it was saying low, like 23 at idle... should be 42 usually.

What could be causing oil to leak onto the manifold besides the dipstick? But I am pretty sure that is what is causing it.

Is there water in the oil?

My father who was behind me while this was happening said alot nice black smoke was coming out of the exhaust, mostly right tail pipe and when I lifted the hood, smoke stopped and smell went away, not sure what was causing it really.

Could it be a leak at the valve cover/heads perhaps? maybe the gasket is shot...

If oil is comming up from the dipstick tube, Its a reaaly bad sign. RRR, i have to get back to you on this, i forgot the name of the problem. Ill see if i can find it elsewhere.

I do really believe its coming out of the dipstick tube... not alot, but it does, but if I have the dipstick on there good (I need a new one) then all is well, oil pressure is normal, no smoke, etc... This engine has no ran since last October, I think one thing that will really help is a good few days of driving.
