Sunroof only opens part of the way when wet

I've noticed that when my car is wet after a rain or washing the sunroof will only open part of the way. However after completely drying off and upon restart it works fine. Could the water be throwing a short and allowing this to happen? Any input is appreciated.

Open it and see if theres any exposed wires, or anywhere water could get in to short it out.
