Chugging
Tuesday, June 14, 2005 11:32 PM
When I go around a corner, take-off from a light, or any other similar activites my car begins to jerk back and forth like crazy. It does it at any temperature, and when it does it I shift to the next gear, and it usually does it for a bit then stops untill the next corner or the next light, when it may or may not do it this time.

I replaced the spark plugs, added a fuel additives to clean the fuel system, as well as remove any water, just in case. The jerk is so bad that I get thrown back and forth like I was driving with someone who had never driven standard before, but other people have driven my car, and it does the same to them, so its not me.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I want to get this fixed before I get wiplash, and thought you guys could help me out.

Thanks.

Kelly, fuel filters tend to 'clog' then 'unclog', so you just

might want to change it.

Changed the fuel filter today, and it still is chugging. I was thinking maybe changing the fuel pump? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Check for any vacuum leaks.

I believe you're at "Point 2" with your problem. (You did

exactly the right thing by eliminating the filter as the culprit.)

However you can get it done, a fuel pressure test to determine

if it is the fuel pump, should be done.

You're on the right track, good luck !
