ok so I have a leak near my timing cover where the oil pan connects to it
today I figured I'd drop the pan and re do my seal and put it back
well I've been trying for like 3 hours to get the damn pan off
I can't break the seal between the pan and the block... and I can't get in anywhere to put in like a chisel or something to break it loose
any pointers?
I also think I found what I need... a tool that looks like this... you hammer it inbetween the pan and block, then hammer it left to right to cut the seal... but I CANT FIND ONE ANYWHERE
its by kent moore... HELP
I'm going to blow something up
nothing a chisel and a small hammer couldn't fix... haven't got the pan off yet but I'm sure I will within the next hour or so
I just use one of those 2 ft nail puller it works like a charm, to get those gaskets apart. Just make sure you pry slow and easy. You dont want to band those mating surfaces were the silicone meets with the pan, You will constant oil leaks.
Good Luck.
It would come off easier if you didn't ahve the jack under it
