Strange lighting issues
Tuesday, July 12, 2005 3:23 AM
I've got a 99 Z24, and since I've had the car(about a year now) it's had a lot of lighting issues up front. I've tried the standard starting points and they haven't gotten me anywhere, so I was just wondering if anyone might have some insight.

Here's the problems: driver side bright doesn't work, changed the bulb and the socket once and it didn't fix anything. Fog lights don't work, changed both bulbs and still nothing. The switch light still lights up when I try to turn them on, so I know the switch has power. DRLs don't work either.

I am pretty much at a loss since electrical issues and wiring isn't my forte. I would greatly appreciate any help, or related occurences anyone has had.

Thanks, Kurt.

Nope, my DRL's don't work either. I kind of suspected that it might be all tied together,. Perhaps the previous owner disabled the DRLs, and messed it up, I don't know for sure.

I also have to say, you have a damn sexy Z.

try replacing the DRL relay in the fuse box, i think that is def the problem, i've heard that when u remove that to disable the DRLs the drivers side bright doesnt work, dont know about the fogs, but thats what it sounds like to me

look at the wire harness in between the washer jug and frame....there is a splice for the headlight wiring....it is known to corrode at that splice
