timing belt

my dad asked me how often my car needs to have a new timing belt put on. i havent got a clue in the world. so does anyone know how often the timing belt SHOULD be changed. now i know once it breaks or what ever it needs to be changed but i mean like. how many miles til a new ones needs put on

what motor do you have....


and all our motors dont have timing belts.. to my knowledge.. they have timing chains.. and they dont need to be replaced unless damaged.. i bleieve anyways

Never.You dont have a timing belt you have a chain.

its a 98 cavalier with the 2200 motor. so i dont need a new timing chain untili breaks??
