Hey, Does anyone know where I can get my enging replaced? I have a 2000 cavalier with a 2.2. I am going to be buying an ecotec and I don't now where I can get in installed. I am in az, so obviously it will have to be somewhere within the phoenix, tempe, mesa, scottsdale, ect.
" Only god can judge me!" Tu Pac
so is it the 2.2 ohv -----swapped to an ecotec?......
-it will be costly cause there is alot involved ecu-trans-wiring harness-bcm(possibly)-or more
or ecotec to ecotec.....?
-if its ecotec to ecotec i know a guy at work who will do it for reasonably cheap.
we did one liek 2 months ago for 1000.....and that included the motor.....all new seals and a trip to tucson to get it.
but im sure it will be around 500ish for install if its the same engine...maybe more maybe less
also.....he is a master certified Chevrolet tech...so he does know what he is doing

talk to steve over at tokyo speed pros. he does a lot of honda and acura motor swaps but i am definatly sure he could do an ohv to eco.
its best not to let some one mess domestic swap when he is only used to import swaps
you need to have the enigine harness for the eco , and you have to have the pcm and the bcm from the donor eco , and transmission for the eco
and if your going from a 5spd to 5spd , or auto to auto , your ok
if you go from auto to 5spd , or the other way around cutting and welding of new mounts is required , and the mounts are hard to get , and in most cases need to be from the doner car as well
well i was just down to phoenix and talked to this guy and he knows a lot of what hes doing. swapping honda motors isnt very easy just as swapping chevy motors isnt very easy but he might be able to help you. this guy is a motor head like whoa!
swapping a honda motor and GM motor are totally different.. different wiring. the motors sit differently. keep this in mind honda has made there cars so almost everything is interchangable.

Swap in a v6 from a grand am it would be actually easier to swap this in instead of the eco. all you need is
v6 engine with accerories
v6 down pipe
custom upper and lower engine mount
also custom wiring harness
custom ac lines
i completed my friends swap just a couple of days ago and it was easier to install his v6 engine into his 2002 2.2 auto sunfire. then it was for me to install my v6 into my 98 sunfire.
i sold him my setup and i think he will be in the phoenix area this weekend.
