i swear, asking about information on cams is like pulling teeth, i have seen numerous attempts by starting new topics, i have started one or two new topics on cams, wondering what the power is like, and all of that $hit, and no1 seems to know anything about them, im sure some1 here has them, please post the news on them people!

dont know anything about the JBP cams. I have the secret cams in my motor now and I love them. I can only imagine the JBP stage 2 cams have an incredible top end...but the low end I can guess would be weak. The low end with the secret cams is a little weaker, but when you hit 2500-3500rpm, they kick ass and are very worth it.

i have the jbp stage 2. those are my dyno sheets on the site. they are a great top end cam. made my auto get up and go on the highway. didn't have much luck at the track last year cause of my tranny, but that will change this year. one down side is that they are a little lumpy, especially if you have both engine mounts. they throw misfire codes if left idling for a long time.

Nathan: I have a hard time believing you got:colt cams Intake - .375lift / 260 dur @.050 Exhaust - .375lift / 268 dur @.050 considering HO cams ar .410 lift at 212 duration @ .050. The duration doesn't add up.

Better topend? You dynoed with peaks lower than what it's rated stock. I've seen 5 speed 2.4 put down the same power with header, exhaust, intake and TB.

Sounds wack to me. Get me better specs and I'll be a believer.

O noes!

he dynoed 3whp more than i did. i got 138.6whp those graphs just dont look right imo they look fake, just my opinion.

Smokey- those are the specs they gave me when i picked up the cams. and i was a little disapointed with the first dyno #'s cause i had intake 2.5"cat back and both engine mount. when i get some money i will get another dyno run with my new mod scinse the cams

Eddie- the first dyno sheet has had the rpm scale changed to be closer to the rpm scale on the 2nd dyno sheet.. and all the other messed up lines are from the auto downshifting.

Keep the info coming...So far, this thread is changing my mind to running the "secret cam" swap cams...or at least just the exhaust cam anyway...

as with all mods, it would be nice to have a 'Before and After' dyno run (same day, same temps, same everything) to measure correct and total gains.

In the J-body world, this is mostly imposible. (swapping cams is alot harder in a Twin Cam, then in a B16)

The secret cams seem to work well with other mods like boost or a port and polished head. I have the gm supercharger with an auto tranny and when the car hits 3rd gear the secret cams really show their worth.

Man, some of those cam specs are crazy. Why do they run so much duration with such a low rev limiter?

I agree. I would rather have high lift and a lower duration. The long duration cams dont start making power until above 3500 rpms...what a waste in my eyes unless you are always running at the track and have disabled the rev limiter <and built the engine to handle the higher rpms>

same engine that you get the 90-94 LO exhaust cam from. The 90-94 LO is the LD2 if I remember correctly. Basically you will get both the intake and exhaust cam from the 90-94 LO, and then have the intake machined for the hex drive and the cam sensor pickup.

Let me know how much it runs you to have the cam sensor pickup and hex drive machined into the cam. I am thinking about cams for my new motor.

I wonder if they'd need the original cam to put the hex and cam sensor pickup in....hmmm...b/c i don't want to have to tear my motor apart and have it sit, as it is my daily driver...maybe somebody could take a pic of the hex and cam sensor pickup and label some kind of demensions?

I think i'll stray away from the stage 2's...but if you're gunna get the secret cams, why not get JBP Stage 1 cams, especially if you're gunna buy new cams from GM and have to have the machining done?

They probably will.
I just found me and intake cam from the LD2 enginer woo hoo. Now what i need is to find a company that can put the cam sensor on. I have my OEM intake cam at home they can look at.
