New to the game
Tuesday, July 05, 2005 7:56 PM
Hello all. I am a bit new to the game and I need some advice. I have a 2002 Cav Z24 and I want to get all I can out of it. What should be my first step. I have already upgraded the exhaust. Where should I go next. I don't have tons of money to burn so please keep that in mind. ALSO, do these items really help versus the factory installed Z24 PARTS - cool air intakes, high performance wires, ect. ect. I want to keep my car street legal but at the same time I enjoy blowing the doors off Civic and Eclipse.
Help a brother out...
Jay.

It seems that you dont need a huge amount of upgraded hp. So go on Ebay and buy any old intake, it will do just fine. Then buy a pace setter, OBX or any other header. As long as you do the install that should only cost you around 200 dollars if you shop around and give you a nice little gain.

im new to the jbody to but i would go with a pace setter header and a greddy or magnaflow exhaust and do a coil pack swap and go with the distributer and wires of a 2.2 then go with a long ram air intake everything is relivevely cheap but the exhaust the magnaflow is bout 800 and the greddy varies depending on wut u want

I'm new to the j's as well I upgraded my plugs to
NGK iridium9 w/ accel thunder series 8.8 mm wires
Bought a magna flow single canister muffler I'm not sure on the inlet size
Probably around 2.75 and 3 out and a pacesetter 4-1 header
Had a local exhaust shop mandrel bend some pipe and weld it all up
And snatched an ram air style intake of my other parts car
Had a buddy of mine bore the throttle body and make a plate for it
And spent less than six hundred to see some descent power
